Port Blair, April 11: As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Kala Kendra - A&N Islands, a Society for Promotion of Art & Culture, Department of Art & Culture organized a Patriotic Songs Competition for tourists and visitors in the precincts of the historic National Memorial Cellular Jail, Port Blair on 10th April 2022.

Port Blair, April 11: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 251 incoming flight passengers yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 16 flights with 2682 passengers arrived, out of which, 2341passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 269 passengers and the reports are awaited.

Port Blair, April 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has urged the Hon'ble Union Minister, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India to impress upon Prasar Bharati to implement DD Free Dish DTH service in Andaman & Nicobar Islands so that the people residing in the remote Islands also get benefits of the Doordarshan Free Dish DTH service.

Port Blair, April 11: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,12,224 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,396 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 10,483 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 13,915.

Port Blair, April 10: On receipt of complaint from the parents of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chouldari, the South Andaman Zilla Parishad, Adhyaksha, Smti. Pramila Kumari and Member UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights and BJP State President Mahila Morcha, Smti Sampa Banerjee visited the Vidyalaya. Thereafter they met Dr. Subhash Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education Government of India and submitted the proposal.
